Winds FC advances in the Open Cup and takes a step toward the UPSL playoffs

Santa Ana Winds FC got back-to-back wins on November 17 and 18, in 2019 US Open Cup qualifying and UPSL play, taking a step toward the UPSL postseason. Winds FC were down in both games, but settled in and found their usual form to take 3-2 victories.

Santa Ana faced Buena Park FC in Open Cup qualifying on November 17 and played to a 1-1 draw through regulation time while playing with 10 men. Winds FC dominated in spite of the numeric disadvantage and broke through in overtime with goals by Max Rico and Xavier Corona.

The next day, the club faced San Diego Zest FC and came back to win after being down early in the match. The win gave the Winds three big points towards their playoff push ahead of the final game of the season versus San Diego Premier SC.
